Rebecca grew up in Springvale, Maine, and immediately took to performing everywhere from community theater productions to school choirs to impromptu neighborhood shows in backyards, porches and basements. When a taste of Ella Fitzgerald sparked a love for jazz, Rebecca attended the University of New Hampshire and received a B.A. In Music Performance.

After graduation, she was excited to dive into the Bay Area jazz scene, and studied vocal performance and arranging at The Jazzschool in Berkeley. In 2006, she released Live at Kelly's, recorded at one of her live performances at Kelly's of Alameda. As she navigated the local jazz scene, she connected with pianist Michael Coleman, bassist Eric Vogler and drummer Rob Ewing, developing an exciting musical rapport and inspiring new creativity in approaching the jazz vocal repertoire.

In 2013, the Rebecca Griffin Quartet released their debut studio album, featuring Rebecca's original arrangements of jazz standards, lesser known discoveries from the jazz catalogue, and music by Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, John Lennon and more.
