Anyssa Neumann in Recital


Program to include music by Bach, Dallapiccola, Granados, and Wagner-Liszt

Raised in Sacramento and now based in the UK, pianist Anyssa Neumann has been praised for the “clarity, charm, and equipoise” of her performances, which span solo and collaborative repertoire from the Baroque to the 21st century. In December 2010, she released her solo debut album of works by Bach, Beethoven, Messiaen, and Prokofiev, which was then featured on David Dubal’s radio program The Piano Matters in New York and Chicago.

Dahveed Behroozi Trio with Zach Ostroff and Jason Lewis

Dahveed Behroozi, Zach Ostroff & Jason Lewis share something unique when playing together. Separately they do a wide range of music, which they bring to the whole of the trio. This afternoon's performance will consist of original material, as well as selections from The American Songbook.

Pianist and Composer Dahveed Behroozi (b. 1981) is a NYC based musician who currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area. His focus is in jazz, classical, and new music. Dahveed’s playing has been described as, "highly expressive, lyrical and colorful with a phenomenal facility" by many artists and various publications. In addition to performing and recording as a leader and soloist, Dahveed has performed and recorded with Thomas Morgan, Tyshawn Sorey, Billy Mintz, Loren Stillman and Dayna Stephens, just to name a few.

Violist Deanna Badizadegan enjoys a diverse career as a soloist and chamber musician, including recent performances with Sejong Soloists, the East Coast Chamber Orchestra, and at TEDxStanford and TEDxFargo. Britton Day is a graduate of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music. He received his Master's degree as well as a Professional Studies Diploma in Piano Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory.

Larry Vuckovich: A Unique Solo Piano Concert

An interesting diverse program of American Standard Classics (Gershwin, Ellington, Porter), Jazz styles of various eras, World Music – Balkan/Gypsy – Roma, Latin/Brazilian/Tango Jazz & Classical Music influences. In addition to this program Larry will highlight two giants of the American Songbook: Victor Young & Harry Warren. He will also do a nod to one of the jazz greats, Erroll Garner. 

Pianist Larry Vuckovich came to S.F. in 1951 as a teenager from Montenegro – former Yugoslavia. He was fortunate to experience the heyday of jazz of which the ‘50s decade had some of the richest & most diverse developments happening. He heard such great big bands as Harry James, Ellington, Basie, Woody Herman as well as small groups like Miles & Trane, MJQ, Bill Evans, Red Garland, Sonny Rollins, to name a few.
