Omri Shimron is Coordinator of Piano and Assistant Professor of Music at Cal State East Bay in Hayward, California. In July 2019, he will coordinate a new course for the CSU Summer Arts program titled “Interpreting French Piano Music.” From 2013-2017 he taught an international group of students at the Rebecca Penneys Piano Festival at the University of South Florida, Tampa. His solo CD, featuring Rzewski’s “The People United Will Never Be Defeated!” was released in 2014. Shimron has given recitals across the United States as well as in Italy, Turkey, Israel, France, and England. He frequently presents lecture-recitals for the College Music Society, and has performed at many colleges and universities, including San Francisco State, Duke, Arizona State, Virginia Tech, and Gettysburg College. He has adjudicated for Music Teachers Association of California, the North Carolina MTA and many others. Previously, he taught at Elon University, Hillsdale College, and Eastern Mediterranean University.
